CONTINENTAL INC. is looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Tech in Muncie, Indiana.  The position will be involved with performing installation, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance and repair functions for plant operations and facility. Along with, ensuring equipment reliability and function as well as troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production and ancillary operations. 


 

Responsibilities

 

  • Adhere to all workplace safety standards; ensure OSHA compliant in performance of job duties
  • Ensure production and support equipment is operational at all times; maintains equipment in good working order
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and general maintenance and repairs to production equipment including centrifuges, vacuum pumps, gas burners, ovens, cure tanks, chillers, tilt and roll stations, cranes, hoists and more.
  • Install or assist with installation of new equipment and equipment upgrades; remove old equipment; may assist with build and design of equipment
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance; maintain PM records and ensure schedule completion
  • Diagnose malfunctions; repair, rebuild or replace as needed
  • General facility maintenance and upkeep
  • Maintain shop tools and maintenance area

 

Qualifications

 

  • Previous experience troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; knowledge of current industrial electrical standards and codes (NEC, NFPA 79)
  • Previous responsibility for preventive/predictive maintenance; knowledge of recordkeeping requirements for PM
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment with maintenance responsibilities for production machines and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints and logic
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and drawings
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; effectively manage a diverse work load
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work
  • Must be able to travel, sometimes overnight
  • Must be able to work weekends and on call as needed

 

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Training and/or certification to industrial electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 79)
  • 2 year degree and/or certification in industrial maintenance preferred
  • 5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to perform minor welding operations preferred
  • Knowledge of basic PLC preferred
