Continental Inc.  is looking to hire an experienced Human Resource Coordinator in Muncie, Indiana. This position provides direction to gain guidance, counsel, and problem-solving support to supervisors, teams, and individuals.   *The hours are third shift - 11pm- 7 am or 9pm - 5 am.*


 

Responsibilities

 Human Resource Coordinator Job Requirements:

 

  • Recruits and hires new employees for nonexempt positions. Performs all primary production staffing functions.  Works with Human Resources Generalist/ Manager in recruiting for all non-technical office jobs at assigned location(s).  Assists supervisors in job selections.
  • Composes job postings that correspond to supervisors' needs. Coordinates and approves job postings at all levels.  Works with Human Resources Generalist/ Manager evaluating and maintaining job descriptions.     
  • Coordinates job evaluations and maintains job evaluation records. Initiates and obtains approval for changes in salary.
  • Manages personnel placement function. Coordinates efforts to handle placement of people through layoffs, assigning temporary jobs, displacements, etc.
  • Coordinates administration of unemployment benefits for MPT Muncie personnel. Approves unemployment benefit applications and supplemental unemployment benefit applications.  Represents MPT Muncie during unemployment hearings.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements solutions for work related problems. Provide support to management in disciplinary actions up to and including separations, performance management, and conflict resolution situations.  Works with supervisors to provide advice, ensure consistency of policy implementation and documentation, and monitor practices to ensure compliance with the law.
  • Participates in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of new programs and policies. Assists other staff as assigned.
  • Responsible for creating monthly employee newsletter, planning and coordinating employee events, maintaining communication boards, and handling employee relations issues.
  • Maintains employee’s files and databases.  
  • Responsible for benefits administration and assisting employees with inquiries, concerns.
  • Participates in health and safety initiatives.
  • Assists with new hire orientation, temp conversions.
  • Responsible for PeopleSoft entry, employee / new hire paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

                                                                                                           


                                    

Qualifications

Human Resource Coordinator Experience Required :

 

  • Associate’s degree in business related field with an understanding of Human Resource OR a minimum five years’ experience in human resources.
  • Must have experience dealing with staffing agencies, post-offer drug screening and background checks.
  • Proficient with computerized application software, particularly PeopleSoft, GEM, ADP and ADI and Microsoft Office Suite and ability to type 65 WPM (test will be administered)
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with internal and external contacts when performing job duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters of confidentiality discreetly and work with employees on issues requiring varying degrees of sensitivity and willing to sign Confidentiality agreement.
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of human resources principles, practices, and procedures. Possesses specific knowledge in areas of compensation and benefits programs, MPT Muncie policies, and labor laws in order to perform job duties independently and make decisions under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects and programs. Researches and recommends new programs, coordinates necessary resources for programs and projects, and manages timing and implementation of new programs and projects.
  • Willing to adjust work hours to accommodate all 3 shifts and to spend a significant amount of time in the productions areas.
