    Continental Inc is looking to hire a Transportation Specialist in Lebanon, Indiana. 


    Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Transportation Specialist:

    • Monitors all KPIs and puts corrective actions in place when targets are off-track.
    • Audit and analyze carrier invoices, creates claims for overages/mischarges, and approves invoices for payment.
    • Monitor and report on carrier performance utilizing system-provided or third party-provided information and coordinate carrier claims.
    • Monitor, analyze, and recommend improvements to reduce our freight costs while maintaining or lowering other operations costs.
    • Provide transportation rate estimates as needed from internal and external tools.
    • Provide guidance to business units with regards to government and carrier transportation regulations (HazMat LQ/ORM-D).
    • Audit and file claims for late delivered parcels.
    • Run standard reports, and performs necessary data entry.
    • Collaborate with Finance to ensure all transportation freight claims are filed, processed, paid or written off and closed.
    • Schedule, rate, track and resolve open service issues on LTL, and FTL shipments.
    • Assists in maintaining transportation rating, routing and configuration tables as needed.
    • Establish Lean tools that instill a culture of continuous improvement.



    Qualifications of Transportation Specialist:

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline preferred.
    • 1 – 2 years of experience in a Supply Chain transportation role.
    • Preference to Certified Supply Chain Management Professionals (cSCMP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or completion of certification is in process.
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Familiar with transportation management systems and procedures.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
    • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
    • Strong customer service orientation (internal and external).
    • Results oriented with good planning, organizational and time-management skills.
    • Handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
    • Accuracy and thoroughness required with great attention to detail.
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office – (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience in an ERP system / warehouse management system.
