Continental Inc is looking for an experienced Sales & Materials Manager in Elwood, Indiana.
Provide direct (“hands on”) leadership and constantly work to improve the efficiency of the supply chain, reducing costs, optimize resources, and increasing responsiveness to customers by managing the activities of the Sales, Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Service. Work with all involved parties to ensure continuous operation of the production lines and exceed safety, quality, cost and service targets in a Non-Union environment.
Reduce obsolescence and reduce operating costs.
Improve safety and quality.
Improve inventory flow/turns and reduce cost.
Reduce on hand inventory levels.
Oversee the flow of materials into, through and out of the manufacturing process for receipt, storage and final shipment to customers with an on-going goal of meeting or exceeding customer expectations on delivery, and increase inventory accuracy (latest: 99.7%).
Problem solving ability in cross-functional and multi-cultural environment using clear written and verbal communication with both internal and external team members. Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with a global business and manufacturing perspective based on a working knowledge of Six Sigma methodology.
All other tasks requested by Operation Director or production management and/or necessary to provide our customer high quality, low cost, 100% on-time and accurate product deliveries.
Facilitate regular meetings (departmental and interdepartmental – Purchasing, Quality) to address key operational issues affecting supply, flow or accuracy of parts or products.
Minimum of Bachelors degree in Management or related field and significant MaterialsManagement/Sales experience.
ERP/MRP knowledge and experience required (QAD Enterprise Application experience preferred). APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification a plus.
Japanese company experience a plus
