    Continental Inc is looking to hire an experienced Heat and Treat Engineer in the Anderson, Indiana area. 

     


     

    Responsibilities

    Job Duties

    • Design or modify turning tooling and fixtures.
    • Identifies operational problems by observing and studying system functioning 
      and performance results.
    • Develops operational solutions by defining, studying, estimating, and screening alternative solutions.
    • Anticipates operational problems by studying, evaluating, and recommending 
      process re-design; implementing changes; contributing information and opinion to unit design and modification teams.
    • Troubleshooting equipment/processes to support production as needed.
    • Participate in improvement teams (productivity, quality, safety, cost reduction).


    Qualifications

      

    The successful candidates will possess the following skills and experience:

     

    • Ability to analyze and prevent process defects
    • Responsible for new product launch
    • Coordinate major machine repairs and rebuilds
    • Engineer replacement components
    • Communicate with team members of all levels
    • BSME or BSMET
    • Experience in a high volume production environment
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent
    • Self-motivated with strong project management skills
    • Hands-on mechanical aptitude
    • Knowledge of abrasives – CBN or non-vertical
    • Experience with Surface Finish Requirements
    • FMEA experience
    • Knowledge of tool testing and work holding
    • Experience with Induction Heat Treat Process
    • Knowledge of Metallurgy

    Fully qualified candidates should possess the following:

    • 5 years of experience and success as a Manufacturing Engineer.
    • BS degree in applicable discipline.
    • Demonstrated success in a leadership and team building role, with ability to coach and develop direct reports.
    • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and fundamentals
    • Strong computer experience utilizing Microsoft programs and
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Auto Cad.
      Knowledgeable of engineering and manufacturing documents and processes. 
    • 3 to 5 years Tier 1 Automotive supplier experience
